Add this incredible winter activity to your bucket list!

What are Ice Castles?
The Ice Castles are an immersive experience where thousands of icicles form picturesque “castles” created by ice artists and include various features such a tunnels, slides, and lights!
Where are the Ice Castles?
The Utah ice castles come to Midway, Utah, about an hour from Salt Lake City, Utah and about 25 minutes from Park City, Utah! While they might be closed for the season, make sure you put them on your winter bucket list for your next winter getaway to the Salt Lake / Park City area!
There are 5 locations (Utah, Colorado, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, & New York ) this year where you could visit the ice castles in the United States! Typically they are open for about two months during the winter season in January and February depending on location and weather.

What to Expect during your Experience?
Plan to visit for about an hour! The ice castles can have fountains, slides, and a bar with hot cocoa to warm up. They are a great non skiing or snowboarding activity and are great for all ages!
I’ve now been to the ice castles two years in a row and have loved the experience! Make sure to wear the appropriate clothing, including base layers, mittens, and good shoes and socks to keep you warm! And of course, don’t forget your camera!
Pro tip for the Utah Location:
Make it an afternoon and make a reservation at the mineral hot spring right down the road, stop at the Zermatt Utah bakery, then end the evening at the Ice Castles just before sunset! This will give you time to take photos in the daytime and then enjoy the ice castles lit up with all the colors!

Tickets:
They book up FAST so book asap when they become available at the Ice Castles website! Note the following prices are for the Utah 2022 season:
- Mon-Thur tickets are $15/adult
- Fri-Sat are $22/adult
- Note they are typically closed on Sundays at the Utah location.
I hope this inspires you to visit one of the 5 ice castle destinations next winter!
With wanderlust,
Haley
